Social Workers for Climate Action respectfully acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we all live. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

We acknowledge the role our social work profession has played in the historical and contemporary disadvantage experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We are committed to contributing to a more just, equitable and reconciled nation with culturally responsive, inclusive social work practice.

Australian First Nations peoples have sustainably cared for Country for tens of thousands of years and have been led by their ecological knowledge, practices, and wisdom. We are committed to listening, learning, and working alongside and in partnership with Australian First Nations peoples to develop appropriate understanding and skills, in order to be effective allies and agents of change and healing.

We acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded.

Always Was, Always Will Be.
